In the jungle areas around Chiang Mai you will find many elephant camps. Here you can see how the elephants are trained from a young age, to perform their duties as work- elephants. Stop to visit an Orchid farm before taking a break for lunch. Continue to a Meo hill tribe village set in an attractive hillside spot and see the Meo tribes people dressed in their colorful traditional costumes. The tour also takes you to Wat Phratat Doi Suthep, which contain a holy relic of the Lord Buddha. The view of the city from 3,500 feet above sea level can be quiet breathtaking. Last but not least you haven’t really seen Chiang Mai without its worldwide known handicraft villages. Many different craftspeople are gathered here – a visit is an absolute must. You will experience the work of umbrella makers, wood carvers, silver smiths, silk weavers and jewelry makers and may also buy a nice souvenir, to take home.
