Chiang Mai Handicrafts

The highlight is to see the local people making handicrafts including Lacquer ware, Silverware, Hand-woven Textiles by silk and hand-painted cotton, fine Teak Wood Carving, and Umbrellas or paper parasols which are hand-painted in a variety designs.  The artisans produce an extraordinary range of quality products, which are invariably the first choice among shoppers. This tour shows you how Chiang Mai craftsmen produce their crafts by hand from the first stage until finish, and gives you an idea that Chiang Mai is the major center for quality handicrafts in Thailand. Then transfer back to the hotel.

Chiang Rai & The Golden Triangle

Early morning departure from Chiang Mai in the northern direction and enjoy a first stop at the hot springs of Ban Pong  Nam Ron.  Proceed to the provincial capital Chiang Rai and on wards to the Golden Triangle, where Laos, Burma and Thailand meet and that was notorious for illegal drug- trafficking for decades.  You will visit the hill tribe villages of the Akha and the Yao.  Lunch will be provided at a local restaurant.  Continue to visit Mae Sai, the northern most town of Thailand, before returning to Chiang Mai in the late afternoon.

Doi Inthanon Mountain & Hill tribe Villages

Visit the highest mountain of Thailand,  Doi Inthanon, an impressive 2590 m high above sea level. You may want to bring some warmer clothing.  Your first stop after about one hour drive from Chiang Mai is the Doi Inthanon National Park and the Vachiratarn waterfall. On your way up, you will visit a Meo and Karen hill tribe village and the Twin Chedis commemorating the birthdays of the King and Queen of Thailand and housing a relic of Buddha. On your return to the valley, visit Chom Tong with the temple Wat Phratat Sri Chom Tong from the 14th century. Lunch will be provide en route and you will return to your hotel in the afternoon.
