Doi Suthep with City Temples and local market by Trishaw

Visit the mountain temple Wat Doi Suthep which is situated 1050 meters above sea level on a hill, on clear days you will enjoy a fantastic view of Chiang Mai town and surrounding areas. After, head back downtown and change your mode of transport to the more traditional trishaw as you will travel through the most historic areas of Chiang Mai. Stop to visit Wat Phrasing which houses the beautiful Lai Kham Chapel with its exquisite wood carving and northern style murals. Continue to Wat Chedi Luang, containing an enormous Pagoda, which was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1545.  Walk through a local market whre most of the produce has come straight from the farm, in some parts of the market the farmers sell their wares direct from the back of their vehicles.

Elephant Camp

In the  jungle areas around Chiang Mai you will find many elephant camps, here you  can see how the elephants are trained from a young age, to perform their duties as work- elephants. After this exciting experience,  a visit to an Orchid farm is also on the program, before you returning to your hotel.

Elephant Camp & Botanic Gardens

After pick up from your hotel, you will be transferred to the jungle north of Chiang Mai and to one of the elephant camps around the city. You will witness how the elephants are trained for their daily work and can see the “students” perform some of the tasks, that show their enormous intelligence. Afterwards you will explore the jungle on the back of a grey giant for approximately an hour, before commencing to the botanic Garden. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. The Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden, was created to serve as a center for botanical studies and research, render services concerning botanic and environmental knowledge as well as to provide recreation for public to enjoy the beauty of the Thai flora. If you feel up to it, you can enjoy a short hike uphill or visit the Rock Garden and the Thai orchid nursery.  Continue by car to the Lanna Vernacular Art Museum & Chiang Mai Terracotta Gallery, before returning to your hotel in Chiang Mai.
